You Are Not Forgotten

Ah, a paid holiday. That's more like it.

Unfortunately that's probably the first thing that comes to mind when most people think of Memorial Day. I am guilty of it as much as anyone.

But with the war in Iraq, friends of mine OVER THERE, and relatives who have fought in other wars, I am reminded today to pay homage to those who have served, and to remember those who have died defending freedom.

People can argue about the validity of any war, but they cannot argue about the resolve of the American serviceman. From those who fought for our independence, to those who defended their land and their union, to those in the trenches in Europe, to those storming the beach at Normandy, to those defending against communist aggressors, to those fighting terror, and all those soldiers who have lost their lives in "police actions" and rescue operations around the globe...you are not forgotten.

Freedom is indeed not free. Thank you for your service.
