Where In The World Is The Decatur Democrat?
It has been well over a month since The Decatur Democrat posted his last post, the "Support Durbin or Support Terror" rant which sparked a large following of comments and discussion afterward. Unfortunately, this discussion and all others on the TDD website have been suspended. Many have asked, "Why?" As MJ said of TDR, "I hear crickets in here."
As the DNC flounders in their attempts to denounce the Bush administration, and now will attempt to "find something wrong" with the new SCOTUS nominee, TDD is nowhere to be found.
So, where in the world is the Decatur Democrat?
In Florida helping with the recount?
In Ohio checking the "rigged" voting machines?
Interviewing more employees of Haliburton?
Diggin up skeletons on John G. Roberts?
Maybe working on the "Hillary '08" Campaign?

Perhaps the Decatur Democrat is off in training to serve our country...you know, a Patriotic Liberal.
That's possible, but I am reasonably sure (s)he would have made some comment to that effect if that were the case. I just can't picture TDD working in any capacity for someone (s)he hates so much. (Uncle Sam/GWB)
Though the President is the commander in chief, the oath one takes in military service is to defend the constitution. One is working for the American people.
Let's look at this logically:
Durbin says: Military = Nazis
TDD says: Durbin = American Patriot
Since: Nazis ≠ American Patriot, TDD could not be in the US Military.
No one gets more than a month off for vacation, unless you're filthy rich.
So, either TDD is really busy with something going on around here, off on assignment somewhere else for a job and can't get to the internet, or, like Decaturite, has given up on blogging and is watching CNN, reading Newsweek, and checking out moveon.org every now and then.
An extended illness or family illness is also a possibility; if so, all the best to you TDD.
A careful, honest, and fair reading of what Durbin said will show in fact that he did not say
military = nazis
(and I'm a proud Army vet myself, by the way, as well as a veteran of that proud W organization, the Texas National Guard)
Though I wish he hadn't expressed himself the way he did, he did not say that the military equal nazis.
