The New Blog Site...Not Pretty, but interesting...

So, after listening to Brian Byers derail Matthew last Thursday, I did chance upon www.blogdecatur.com and found it, interesting. It would appear as if the Scoop software was made to be a newspaper type thing, but, in order for it to be a blog, Matthew is asking for people to keep their own writings in their own diaries. Interestingly enough, people are posting to the main area, or Matthew is choosing which stories go to the main area, I'm not sure. A few more bells and whistles than the blogspot blogs, but not as colorful (and where can you throw in the pictures?) How much memory can Matthew's server handle? What if he launches another thread like the DMH story with 200+ hits, will that bring it down? I hopes not.

Other than Dr. David Gregory, everyone else on the site, so far, seems to be the old democrat circle. But then again, not too many conservative bloggers around these here parts, at the present time. Readership, yes, writers, no.

So, I have decided to add Matthew's new site to my link list. I would encourage all the conservatives who read here to take a look at what's being said there; respond if you don't agree. Matthew wanted a community forum, so give him one. The idea is a good one; the software may need some updating/changing in the future depending on the response.

In other news...

John Bolton might get confirmed, or maybe not. We'll have to see.

The "flip flopping" democrats (as Dr. Dave has termed them) are still at it with the filibuster debate. I recently heard our own Dick Durbin on the radio talk about the filibuster as if it's a "200 year old tradition." Hmmm...those Senate rules aren't that old Dick. Check yer sources. They AREN'T in the constitution, senators came up with them on their own. Changing senate rules to allow for the constitution of the United States to be acted out (appointing of judges and the voting of those appointments by the US Senate) is NOT un-American. How could it be?
Using senate rules to NOT allow the constitution of the United States to be acted out, THAT IS un-American, regardless of political party. I'm all for dumping filibusters completely.

The next week or two should prove to be crucial to these and other issues. Stay tuned.

Until next time...

Filibusters have to be delt with before there is a vacancy on the Supreme Court. Otherwise we could end up with another Souter. Bush will appoint one possibly two Justices. Thats what liberal Dems fear most. It will be intresting to watch. One thing that people on the far left and far right understand better than a moderate is the Supreme Court has more say in our day to day lives than the other two branches of goverement.

As far as Durbin is concerned, he is such a disappointment. Instead of serving in the tradition of one of the the many excellent downstate democrats he has came to represent everything that is wrong with the National Democratic Party. Durbin, Kennedy, Byrd, Kerry, Dean are all from the same ilk. When Durbin voted against the ag bill it made me sick. It was spitting in the face of every farmer in Illinois to please a bunch of ambulance chasing lawyers. I hope Obama does better. sorry to babble on

Ann, nice to see you again. It's been so long...

Actually, I think if most Americans knew the score, and how the constitutional process was being disrupted because of a few people's unwillingness to admit they lost the election in November, they would continue to do what they've been doing: Voting Republican. Not because the Republican party is "THE BEST", but, as is in every election, the lesser of two evils. When John Q. Public finally gets the full story on the filibusters they will freak out and get rid of the liberals in government, regardless of which party they are affiliated with.

I think Dems are starting to pick up on that. They will still use filibusters, but not as often. Who is Ann?

Ann or Annie are affectionate pseudonyms for 'anonymous.'
